Happy New Year!!! 2007 is gone and I'm so looking forward to what 2008 has in store for me. So far so good. I've started a new gig which I absolutely love, my family is blessed and happy, and last but not least I haven't been slipping on my sit ups.....I'M PREGNANT! Life couldn't be better right now. Okay, it actually could because this morning (noon and night) sickness is kicking my behind! Pretty soon I'm just going to go out and buy a port-a-potty and just drag it around with me. Once I get past the MNNS I will be good to go. I don't know if it's a boy or girl yet. I really don't care either way as long as the baby is healthy. But, I'm willing to bet boy or girl the child will definitely be able to speak spanish because I've been overdosing on salsa and tortilla chips like it's nobody's business. I ate so much salsa and chips yesterday my waitress and my husband just sat staring at me like they were secretly planning an intervention. I'm really excited because my sister-in-law is pregnant with twins (due in Feb). I can't wait til they get here. So, as you can see I have a lot to look forward to in 2008 and I vow to make it the best year ever. I pray all of you have a 2008 just as wonderful.

This past weekend I went on a "Girls Trip" to Tybee Island, GA. It was a blast! I got a new butterfly while I was in Savannah. "She" lives on my right shoulderblade. Isn't she pretty?

Just a quick note to let you all know I recently did an one-on-one interview with DJ Sergio D from Soul 107.3. I had a blast doing the interview but it was very evident (at least to me) that I haven't done any press in a while. I was a bit "rusty". LOL! I think it's becoming clear that my plans for my music and God's plan aren't quite the same. It seems like I have have more opportunities and great things happen since I made the decision to leave the industry. So, I will lean not to my own understanding and follow whatever God has in store for me. But, back to the interview! It will air tonight at 8pm EST. Last night, I stopped by my cousin's Myspace page and saw the coolest thing. He had created an animated version of himself! Instantly, I knew I needed to create an "Ani-Xavi". LOL! So, my dear friends I would like to introduce you to my new little friend, Xavi-B! Check her out as she sings in the studio! :)

This past weekend I have found my new passion in life. Yes, it's true. I have learned how to Crochet! Stop laughing! It's something I have wanted to learn for a very long time. So, you know me...I decided to make a party out of it. I had all of my girls come over, we had plenty of goodies to eat, and we learned to Crochet! It is an understatement when I say I have become obsessed with it. Last night I was up until 2am trying to get my "double crochet" down pat. You hardcore crocheters know what I'm talking about. Maybe crocheting will inspire some music within me. Here is a picture of my lovely instructor, Debbie teaching me how to crochet.

I've added a few pics from the Autism Walk last Saturday. The event was absolutely awesome! I am so grateful for all of you who contributed to this wonderful cause. Now, go see the pics!!!

I can truly say I've tried everything but selling a kidney to get my music on the radio. As an indie R&B artist at times it feels virtually impossible. I've been told I need to "slide" the DJs a lil something under the table in order to get airplay. The only thing I'm sliding under the table is a chair. I know major labels and big named artists monopolize the airwaves but I know there are many talented indie artists with great music as well. So, in my latest effort to get airplay I have created a petition. Yup, I'm going "old school" on them. The idea is to get as many signatures as possible then present it to the MDs and PDs of commercial radio. Maybe it will work....maybe not. But, nothing beats a failure but a try!
